How does Wickbox stand out from other candle subscription boxes? 

Established in 2015, Wickbox is the first luxury candle subscription box curated to match your scent preferences. Wickbox takes the fear out of buying scented candles online by allowing you to complete your scent profile and then handpicking your candles to match. We also feature beautiful, on-trend candle containers unlike other companies who always feature the same old clear jars or metal tins. A different reusable container is featured every month that will help you spruce up your decor for each season. Our customers absolutely love the thrill of opening their box and seeing the surprise candle we've chosen for them that month! Our luxury candles are top quality and feature superior wax, lead-free wicks and burn evenly with a wonderful fragrance throw. 

How often will I get this box? 

Your Wickbox will ship on or around the 15th of the month.   For subscribers who sign up after the 20th, your first box will ship the following month.  Your subscription will automatically renew on the 23rd of each month, which will be the charge for the following month's box.  You can skip a month or cancel your subscription by logging into your online account at any time or by emailing

What's in the box? 

You will choose between a large or medium box, which will feature 1 luxury scented candle per month handpicked to match your scent preferences. You'll be asked to complete your scent profile after checkout.  A different brand and beautiful, on-trend container is featured every month to help you easily update your decor with the seasons.  The typical burn time of a large candle is 60 to 100 hours. The typical burn time of a medium candle is 30 to 60 hours. Sometimes we'll even throw in a bonus treat to add to your relaxation experience!  Read what people are saying here.

How do I fill out my scent profile? 

You will be redirected to fill out your scent profile after checkout. If you're curious about what questions we'll ask, you can preview them at the following link: . You can also use this link to create a new scent profile at any time if you'd like to update your preferences. 

What kinds of candles are featured?

Our partner brands focus on quality like lead-free wicks and superior wax (our favorites are soy, coconut, and vegetable) as well as beautifully designed, on-trend containers.  Many of our candles are hand-poured in the United States.  Check us out on Instagram to see examples of candles and get a feel for our oh-so-chic style. 

Are there any other benefits for being a subscriber? 

Yes! All active subscribers receive at least 10% off any purchases in The Shop (excludes gift cards). This lets you stock up & save on your favorite candles & accessories! You must be logged into your account so your discount can be automatically applied at checkout. 

Can I send a gift message to the recipient of a gift subscription?

Yes! There's a section at checkout to enter the gift recipient's email address and a gift message that will be emailed to the recipient once their first box ships along with the tracking number. If you'd like to send them a gift message ahead of time along with the scent profile link, check your order confirmation email to download a pdf gift message template that you can print from your computer or email to them. If you just need the link to the scent profile to pass along, it is: If you don't want a gift message to be emailed to them, skip the section that asks for their email address. 

What candle tools do you recommend? 

Use our gold wick trimmer to trim your wicks between burns which will help your candles burn longer and evenly with maximum fragrance and reduced soot. The special foot of the trimmer catches the wick and allows you to remove it safely (a pair of scissors can't do that!). We also recommend our gold wick dipper to extinguish your candles virtually smoke-free. This method is preferred over a candle snuffer which emits a cloud of smoke when extinguishing a candle.  The wick dipper coats the wick in wax which primes it for the next lighting and prevents it from fraying or becoming brittle.

How can I get the most out of my candle?

Trim your wick to 1/4" between burns. Wax has a memory so the melt pool will only go as far each time as you allow it to with the first burn. Make sure you allow enough time for the wax to liquefy all the way to the edges to prevent tunneling and wastage. A good rule of thumb is to let it burn for about 1 hour for every inch in diameter of the candle.  A handy infographic card with our tips will be included in your first box. 

How can I reuse my candle container? 

There are a few ways to clean the last remaining bit of wax out of your container so you can reuse it. Our favorite way is to let the wax cool completely, then set the container in your sink and carefully pour hot water into it. Let it sit until all the wax releases and floats to the top. Then rinse with soap and water and wipe out any remaining residue. We love to reuse ours for storing makeup, nail polish, jewelry, cotton balls and even as pretty flower vases. 

What are some safety tips? 

Blow out all candles when you leave the room or go to bed. Avoid the use of candles in the bedroom and other areas where people may fall asleep. Keep candles at least 12 inches away from anything that can burn. Use candle holders that are sturdy, and won’t tip over easily. Put candle holders on a sturdy, uncluttered surface. Light candles carefully. Keep your hair and any loose clothing away from the flame. Don’t burn a candle all the way down — put it out before it gets too close to the holder or container. Never use a candle if oxygen is used in the home.  Candles are not to be used by children or near pets. (Source: National Fire Protection Association website)
